Week 10 Homework

Hi class


This is due on THURSDAY 8th April. 


- Please continue on your CCR original post where you answered Q1. 

- Use blog tools for each question. 

- Look at Grace / Kayla/ Prixcilla / Ella's examples from Foundation Portfolio in 2020 / 2019 for a good gage as to how to get really good marks in this.

How have your PRODUCTION skills developed throughout the project? (pre-production, production and post-production. What have you learnt to do?

- comment on the learning process. What did you find hard? What did you enjoy doing? What was a challenge and
- what were peer revision/ comments on your rough edit? What did they suggest you change? What did you end up changing?
- what went well in the filming process that you'll do again? What will you do differently next time?

Question 4 - How did you integrate technologies into this project?
(Software, hardware and online)

- Photos! Present photos, screenshots, videos and explanations of every website, software, Youtube tutorial, camera, sound gear/ microphone etc, you used to plan, write scripts, look up info on sound effects, convert Youtube music to MP3's, edit, after effects etc

Homework Week 9

 Hi guys,


Part A.


Look up x3 After Effect Tutorials and embed them into a post. 

- label it after effects research

- comment on what you would like to do with each one (where would you use it, why?) and talk about which one you will end up using and why.


Part B


- Create a ROUGH DRAFT post 

- include a Youtube Link to your rough draft 

- type up feedback from teacher and peers

- Type up a short response to feedback. What will you change and why? What will you keep the same, why?

Week 6 Homework - CCR

 Hi guys


This homework is due Thurs 25th March.

You are going to start answering this question in a blog post labelled, 'CCR - Question 1 PLANNING'

Question 1
How does your product USE or CHALLENGE conventions?
(Think sound, lighting, narrative structure, editing, camera work, symbolism and iconography)
 - make a list of conventions used, are they conforming to the norm or challenging the normal thriller conventions?

- Don't just list the conventions (explain them, provide PHOTOS / screenshots from your film to illustrate your point
- When you comment on challenging conventions or using conventions, what other examples from relevant films can you think of? 
- Remember to provide rationale for every choice. WHY did you choose to use that particular convention? For what purpose? Did it work? Do you think it was effective?
- Details / details / details!

Homework Week 6 - Opening Sequences

 Hi everyone,



So here's the task for this week's homework:

•On your blog, explain the following: (create a post titled 'Opening Sequences')
–What is the purpose of Opening Sequences?
–What is the difference between Opening Credits and a Title Sequence?
–What techniques can be employed in an opening sequence?
–Research a modern Thriller and a Hitchcock film of your choice to use as examples.
–Demonstrate how both films achieve the purpose of the Opening Sequence, and contrast their techniques.

Here is an updated version of the powerpoint we saw in class.  It has a few more leading questions to assist you in the assignment.

Week 5 Classwork - Preliminary Task 1

 Hi guys,


Your job at home this week is to COMPLETE planning for your preliminary task 1 by Wednesday 10th March.


This means that each school day, you should be spending an hour of 'class time' working on your part of the planning. 


- Remember to use LOTS of visuals / pictures and examples from other movies that are inspiration for your choices.

- Look at past pupils work for reference points of what you should be aiming for

- Label all planning as Preliminary Task 1

- Upload all your work to the group blog with the name of who contributed each part


Your week should look like this;


Tuesday 2nd March

 - Group call to discuss concept / brainstorm

- video call with T-Bianca to 'check' idea off


Wednesday 3rd March

- Start planning work 

- Publish blog post each day so I can keep tabs on it all

- Everyone should have a brainstorm / mood-board on blogs and 1 big task (either script / storyboard / shot list )


Thursday 4th March 

- Location 

- Props & Costumes 

- Talent (characters)

- Logo planning 


Friday 5th March

- Camera planning (shots / angles / movement of camera)

- Editing planning (what are some editing techniques you plan on using, why?)

- Treatment (plan and complete your part of it)


Monday / Tues / Wed 

- Hopefully we will be in class and all other planning will be for homework.
